Translation

Col. ii

Brick mould of lapis lazuli,

brick board of pure (silver):

-4 a scorpion stung an envoy, son of [his] god.

-6      (Give) the messenger water to drink,

so that the traveller is not held up!

Let him continue travelling!

The incantation is not mine,

it is an incantation of Enki, Asalluḫe

 and Ensigalabzu.

 By command of Enki,

 Asallube and Ensigal-Abzu

may the stung person get better,

 and Enki's command come true!

If a stung person comes (to you),

-19   you place dough in his armpits and his groin(?).

If a messenger

comes to you,

you cast the spell over water

and he drinks it.

You say to him as follows,

"So-and-so,

you are alive and well!"

Incantation formula for a scorpion.
