Translation

Obv.

Oh Nanna, you are king of heaven and earth!

I put my trust in you, and (now)

             Elali, son of Girni-isa,

has wronged me, judge my case!

             He had no money, so

he approached me. With money of mine

             he paid off his debts,

             he contracted a marriage,

he had a son and a daughter.

He did not make my heart content,

            he did not repay me

            my money in full

            and (by(?)) his loan

            (he(?)) has wronged me!

In Nanna I put my trust, and (besides)

            in the orchards

            in front of Ekišnugal

he swore: "I will not do you wrong!"

At the Main Gate, beneath the mace

            which you love, he swore.

Inside the Main Court, in front of Ekišnugal,

in front of Ningal of the Egasilim,

before Ninšubur, the 'doorman'(?) of the Main Court,

            before Alammuš,

before Nanna-Vanguard and Nanna-Reinforcement he swore to me:

            "To you and your sons,

Rev.

I will not do you any wrong!" he swore.

            "These gods

may be my witnesses!" he said.

            And then in the orchards

            in front of Ekišnugal,

before Nanna (and) before Šamaš, Elali (swore):

"To Kuzullum I will not do any wrong!

(Otherwise), before Nanna (and) before Šamaš,

there may be no heir for Elali!" thus he swore.

The one who swears (false) (by) Nanna and Šamaš

            will become full of leprosy,

will become destitute and will have no heir!

By Nanna and Šamaš Elali swore and (now)

            has wronged me!

May Ninšubur, the king of property, stand up (as witness) and (then)

may Nanna and Šamaš judge my case!

May I see indeed the greatness of Nanna and Šamaš!
