Translation
- Ipiq-Eštar, king,
- created by Enki (and) Damkina,
- king of Malgium,
- son of Apil-ilišu,
- when Anu, Enlil, Belet-ili,
- and Ea, my king,
- held council for the land
- the one that dwells in the Apsû, the lord of secrets,
- let his wife know,
- the pure Damkina:
- "Quickly, take away the sin,
- ward off the evil!
- In the future,
- its foundations shall be firm,
- (of) Malgium, your city.
- The kingship, the dynasty may last long.
- It shall never cease in Enamtila!"
- At that time, the land came down
- in its whole entirety.
- It made a great clamour
- and did an evil (deed).
- It destroyed the sanctuary,
- the dwelling of the great Belet-ili,
- and cut the awesome height, her garden.
- I am Ipiq-eštar, devout king,
- creature of his hand,
- of Ea.
- As soon as Ea (and) Damkina
- received me for their service,
- I made, I built the house
- for Belet-Ili, my mother,
- I planted her a pure garden,
- (as a) sign of her divinity,
- I established regular fruit offerings
- for ever for her.
- I called it Ekitušgeštu.
- I returned to her her former shrine
- and I installed her dwelling.
- Who removes my foundation,
- may Belet-Ili inflict on him
- a great curse.
