it came out of a drain- pipe:

      I seized the viper,

      a snake impervious to spells,

   a little water-snake,

a snake climbing into the rafters,

a snake slithering through the windows,

a little snake of the wood-pile,
[I seized] a black snake of the vineyard:

[I seized] the mouths of all snakes.

   [I seized] their tails,

I led (them) [between] two rushes,
